Expect lots of images when I return!

    Thanks!

    Abraham and Molly * Beloved

    May 1st, 2010

I spent a delightful two hours with Abraham and Molly!  They are expecting twins this summer!  I feel as if I have met two new friends, and I have thought of fifteen more things to ask them since they said goodbye!  Here’s a few early favorites!

    PPA Print Time…

    April 28th, 2010

Prints are due Friday for the international competition, and I feel like I have no idea what will or won’t merit anymore!  I had the amazingly talented Jonathan Penney print some images for me this time– we’ll see how they do!  In the meantime, here’s another one I was looking at entering…. it’s from Cassie’s and Steve’s wedding last summer.  These two are abundantly in love and it was a joy to be their photographer!

    Beloved Session * Minneapolis, MN

    April 25th, 2010

My friends Nate and Jessie were willing to serve as guinea pigs as I explore the idea of Beloved sessions that I learned from Jesh deRox at WPPI.

I was blown away, by the joy and giddiness of their love, and also the tenderness and kindness.

Nate made me cry as he held Jessie.  In this experience I ask them to share precious things with each other to put them in a space to honestly express their love.  I can’t always hear what’s being said and frankly, I don’t want to… it’s literally for the two of them.  I hope that these images remind them of the sweetness of their relationship.

Thanks for sharing this with me!

    Beloved * Minneapolis

    April 23rd, 2010

Here’s my first stab at a Beloved Session, one that celebrates a couple’s love and shows something deeper than what they look like on the outside… photography that shows their souls.

I went to a seminar at WPPI by Jesh deRox, he moved me so much…  I think I am always attracted to real human experiences, one where people are brave enough to be honest.

I love this work–I want to do more of it.  If you are interested in doing a test session I would love to hear from you. You have to be willing to be open and ready to fall in love with your partner.

I would also love to hear what you think.. please comment!

    PPA time!!

    April 14th, 2010

I am still working on earning my Master Photographer certification through PPA.  This weekend is the regional competition… I am spending a lot of brain time trying to decide on which session to send!  Here’s an image that did not merit with PPA, but is my highest selling stock photo.  Art is so subjective!

    Greg Amundson * Location Portraits

    April 5th, 2010

This is Greg Amundson, a wonderfully talented, genuine soul who plays country music and also happens to be wicked smart.  Spending time with him was a delight.  If I get a link for Greg’s music, I will be sure to share it here!

One of my favorite getting ready shots…

    March 22nd, 2010

It was a steamy day in Georgia, but the light came through the windows just right!
