I had a blast with this family! They were so loving and kind… You will be seeing more of them as we print some wall portraits!
Kelly & Jon had a gorgeous sunny day despite the rain, because the world was aglow with their mega-watt smiles!
I started a series last year, photographing Minneapolis comedians at their homes.
Zach was my first brave subject.
Zach is the kind of guy everyone would want as your brother.
Funny, brilliant, literary, musical and kind.
(The perfect person to have on your side at a family reunion!)
Working with him was easy- and we both laughed a lot!
A few people passed by on the street as I was stretched out on my belly photographing- with strobes in his front yard on a dewy Sunday morning.
I think they probably guessed, correctly, that Zach is pretty much a big deal!
This is Steve and Cassie two of my favorite people who just happen to be amazing clients!
Steve and Cassie fell hard for each other and have the most amazing adventurous, vivacious life together.
What I really love about them is how they genuinely admire and care for each other!
Steve likes to dress up as Batman in front of the Mann Chinese Theater- you’ve seen it in the movies a bunch of times–if you are ever in LA, go see a premiere there!
The seats are uncomfortable, but the ambiance is amazing!
Anyway, we incorporated the Bat Signal in the image because we wanted a hyper realistic cool portrait
where the superhero gets the girl… at least briefly until he has to stop crime somewhere…
I entered it into the PPA competition this year.
I love this image and Cassie and Steve have a huge version of it on their walls, printed on plexiglass that lights up!
Sending lots of love to Steve & Cassie you two make my job so much fun!
From here out– it’s all going to be on the blog…
I have been so slack in updating which is really odd because
A. I love blogs! I read several daily!
B. Lots of stuff is going on!
My life has been full of awesome images and they have just been shared with the clients and not the world! Time to change that!
So here’ s an image that always moves me:
This is my dear host sister Karin and her husband Sven on their wedding day. Karin lives in a delightful village in Rott, Germany. My German friends are like family and I am so grateful that when I am there, I am completely enveloped into their lives. Karin & Sven have two adorable daughters now, Helene and Charlotte… I am sure their sweet faces will soon grace my blog as well. In the meantime…
Embrace the Romance!
I met up with Courtney in Oahu and she took me to KoOlina.. the most gorgeous nestled lagoons. (It’s so beautiful that Disney’s building a resort there.)
I grabbed a quick shot of Addison her daughter… Which I LOVE:
The expression is priceless!
And took a portrait of my old friend. who looks insanely beautiful.
Thanks for the tour Courtney!
I was so lucky to photograph the intimate sweet wedding of Kate & Tim.
Many years of happiness to you both!
I love these two, because they are so genuinely happy together!
Thanks Anjanette and Joel for letting me capture the beginning of your wedded bliss!
Wendy Maybury is essentially closed for business through September 7th- we’re photographing a wedding in Bavaria! (Followed by a much needed vacation with some dear friends.)
Expect lots of images when I return!
Feel free to send email wendymay [at] yahoo [dot] com but it will not be answered until the 7th–I am unplugging during my time in Europe.
